Here is a little help

There is a difference other than the one on the right is called OLD and the one on the right is called NEW.
Both of them are nearly the same machine. They share the same engines, harnesses, bars fuel tanks and all that.
In Fact, the NEW Enduro flies just as good as the old one (maybe even better). Everything is identical except one detail that you won´t be able to tell just by looking at it.
The NEW SCOUT Enduro is lighter, and stronger as the old one. The weight saving (off course without cutting any corners ) has been achieved by changing the material of the outer hoop section and the core of the spars from stainless steel to aluminium.
Not just any aluminium, which bends and twists and it is soft like a piece of chocolate that the kids left on the dashboard of your car in a hot summer day.

It is the 7075 T6 aluminium that is used in aviation (what a coincidence right?). This aluminium is no news to us as we use it to manufacture our gooseneck and hybrid bars.

Specially made for us

Because this material is not available in form of tubes that we need for the NEW Enduro to make it lighter, so we had to find a solution.
We had to cut out the middle man and go directly to the manufacturer and let them produce tubes made from 7075 T6 aluminium specially for us.

So let´s see some numbers and facts you need to know. 

DENSITY&WEIGHT

7075 T6 Aluminium

AISI Type 304 Stainless Steel

8 g/cc

Because the destiny of the 7075 T6 aluminium is smaller than the AISI Type 304 Stainless steels, it makes the aluminium lighter by 65%.

If you do a bit of calculations you will see that we the new Enduros cage is not lighter by 65% percent, but the real difference is 53%. Why? Because there are still some bits (like carbon on the spars or the pins that secure the outer hoop sections in place) on the cage that weight the same as before.

TENSILE STRENGT

7075 T6 Aluminium

Most of the times Lighter aluminium is weaker than the any type of steel, but not in our case.  The 7075 T6 has a greater Tensile strength and hardness.

I The 7075 T6 has a grater hardness too

The 7075 T6 Aluminium performs better in all the fields it is lighter has a greater Strength and Hardness. These properties make it more resistant to impacts, wear and tear than the stainless steel we used before.
But lets just not end it there, lets compare the NEW Enduro to the SCOUT CARBON´s weight

As you can see the 104 grams weight difference between the NEW Enduro and the CARBON is really small, possibly the phone in your pocket weights twice that much.
Now you can have a SCOUT in two option both equally light and compatible.
